Portland, Oregon’s Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital gets “Down” to support Cancer Awareness

BIG ups to the hospital staff and to everyone involved in making this video.  To see people shift focus, take a moment from their usual tasks, get together, and coordinate for a good cause is to see people caring and making an effort…and that ROCKS!

Here’s what the hospital staff had to say (you tube page): “Our employees put together this video to generate breast cancer awareness throughout our hospital system. We had a ton of fun putting this together and hope it inspires others to join in the cause.”

Jay Sean, who sings the song used in the video, was enrolled in medical school in London before deciding to pursue a career in singing.  He had this to say: “The vid is awesome…medicine will always be close to my heart and this is such a worthy and important cause. So maybe I could have been a doctor and a singer at the same time after all then!? Just Brilliant.”  Read more on the story here

From “I can’t believe I’m doing this” to “Watch me shake my booty” to “I’ve got to get back to what I was doing, but okay I’ll shake it a little”, the range of people’s emotions was awesome.  The video is encouraging, inspiring, heartwarming, and memorable.  Thank you for doing this, Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital.

From the American Cancer Society’s Awareness Calendar:

(Nov. 19)
-Coaches vs. Cancer Classic® Weekend (Nov. 19-20)

Down
topped the Billboard 100 and made singer Jay Sean the first solo artist of Asian origin to do so.  The song is included in his 3rd album, All or Nothing, which debuts in the U.S. on Monday, November 23rd.
