More Asians Rockin' America
HAITI - Food, water, shelter, sickness, and death continue to be urgent problems even with an estimated 16,000 grounded US forces delivering aid to the double earthquake stricken Haiti. The 7.0 quake that shook Port-au-Prince on January 12th killed approximately 200,000 people, injured 250,000 and left 1.5 million homeless. Just eight days later, a 5.8 aftershock (revised from 6.1) trembled Haiti about 36 miles west of the capital. More aftershocks could follow within the next 30 days. Portland, Oregon’s Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital gets “Down” to support Cancer Awareness

BIG ups to the hospital staff and to everyone involved in making this video.  To see people shift focus, take a moment from their usual tasks, get together, and coordinate for a good cause is to see people caring and making an effort…and that ROCKS!

Here’s what the hospital staff had to say (you tube page): “Our employees put together this video to generate breast cancer awareness throughout our hospital system. We had a ton of fun putting this together and hope it inspires others to join in the cause.”

Jay Sean, who sings the song used in the video, was enrolled in medical school in London before deciding to pursue a career in singing.  He had this to say: “The vid is awesome…medicine will always be close to my heart and this is such a worthy and important cause. So maybe I could have been a doctor and a singer at the same time after all then!? Just Brilliant.”  Read more on the story here

From “I can’t believe I’m doing this” to “Watch me shake my booty” to “I’ve got to get back to what I was doing, but okay I’ll shake it a little”, the range of people’s emotions was awesome.  The video is encouraging, inspiring, heartwarming, and memorable.  Thank you for doing this, Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital.
