Wednesday, October 28, 2009- The NY Islanders land their 2nd win out of 11 total games in the season, beating the #1 NY Rangers 3-1 in front of 15,213 fans at Nassau Coliseum. How’d it happen?
(Note: NY Islanders alternate captain and right wing, Richard Park, is 1 of only 2 Koreans to ever play hockey in the NHL.)
Why is this an awesome win?!? Rangers v. Islanders. Both New York teams. Each the eternal rival of the other. Rangers came in at 8 wins out of 12 games and the Islanders…well…they’d previously won only 1 game out of 10 in the season…in a shoot out, no less…So even if it’s only their 2nd win of the season, the Islanders gave us a fantastic underdog victory game to watch.

That said, I’m sad to report that the Yanks lost 6-1 to the Phillies in last night’s Game 1/7 of the World Series…so…moving on…Game 2 tonight!!!! FTW Yanks!!!!
