“SAN JOSE, California – Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton made history Saturday night [September 12, 2009] here by becoming the first Filipino-American female boxer to win the vacant International Boxing Association super bantamweight title in just her fifth professional fight after defeating the seasoned Kelsey “The Road Warrior” Jeffries at the Tank.”

Born on July 5, 1980 in San Francisco, California, Luciana B. Julaton now ranks 8/76 in the World and 2/11 in the United States active super bantamweight ratings.  She resides in Daly City, California.[via]

is a professional Filipino boxer. He is currently the WBC Lightweight Champion. He is the former WBC super featherweight world champion, IBF super bantamweight world champion, and WBC flyweight world champion. He has also held the Ring Magazine titles for featherweight and super featherweight. For his achievements, he became the first Asian boxer to win four world titles in four different weight divisions. He is currently rated by the Ring Magazine as the #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

November 8, 2009 - Note:  Since this was originally posted on famousfilipinos, Manny won another boxing title in a different weight class making him the first Asian and Filipino to win FIVE world titles in FIVE different weight divisions.
